Ghastly Ghouls and Put your foot down #121

Put your foot down is a weekly linky party to share your fiber arts WIP’s and finishes, and hopefully make new friends along the way. Welcome, I invite you to stop in every Thursday and share your projects.

Welcome to my stop in the the Ghastly Ghouls blog hop. Throughout the year our creative host Carol from Just Let Me Quilt commits her time to organize these hops so we can have fun, be inspired and make new friends. Thank you Carol for all you do.

A few months ago AccuQuilt asked if I would remake one of their quilts in new fabric. I loved this project so much and really needed an excuse to remake it. Carol announced Ghastly Ghouls right around that time.

The runner is quick to make, as in “make in a day” project with 2 quilt blocks…

GO! Bountiful Gift Table Runner

The fabric is from various Island Batik Collections.

Before we move on, this is not my pattern but the runner at the following link was made by me. You can find the pattern here on the AccuQuilt website.

It is a 23 x 57 table runner. Can you see “Welcome, Fall, or Welcome Fall” appliqued in the center.

I see a bowl of dip on each end.

I used Heat n Bond Ultra for the applique shapes and even though it’s a no sew fusible I still ran a straight stitch around them to add depth. 2 layers of scrap Hobbs Batting and Aurifil Thread.

And here it is in its new home. My sisters life long friend loves fall and who better to enjoy it? In fact, she loves fall so much she chose a fall wedding. I hope the midwest colors make for a beautiful wedding.

  5. Good morning, Denise! Oh gosh, this is one beautiful table runner. That background fabric in the luscious ecru color is just perfect to offset those gorgeous greens, browns, and oranges. I’ll bet your sister’s friend is over the moon happy with this gift. It sure looks nice on the table! And yes, I can picture those bowls of dip on each end with a platter of healthy and non-healthy dipping choices in the center. YUM! Nice job. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
