Sweet on you blog hop and Put your foot down

Have you been following the Sweet on You Blog Hop hosted by Joan at Moosestash Quilting? Thank you so much Joan for hosting this blog hop, it has been a great week with A LOT of inspiration.

What’s under my foot

Welcome to this last of the blog hop and my day to share. It is also the day of my weekly linky party where you share what you are currently working on or new finishes, and hopefully make new friends.

I have to admit I am totally sweet on my Loki. I’m not sure how or why, but the photo below was a first for him. As I was sorting the 5″ strips for this quilt he jumped from the chair to my work table (not something I wanted him to learn), and plopped down right where he is and I couldn’t pass up the photo op. He loves to be the center of attention and now, he can be. He is my droopy eared Yorkie and truly a life saver who is full of love.

My hop quilt

The fabrics came in a stash builder pack from Island Batik and I was a little sweet on them too. I decided to run them through the AccuQuilt GO! using the 2 1/2″ strip die, with careful placement on the die. The black fabric is Island Batik black solid and were strips left over from bindings over the years, placed randomly between the long strips of colors.

AccuQuilt sent me their Queen of Hearts die to make something for Valentines day and I decided to make these cute mug rugs for my sisters.

Also Island Batik fabric.

The mug rug/coaster pattern can be found on Kreative Kiwi here, I added my own sayings and the hearts.

The Queen of Hearts die also comes with a free embroidery file to finish off the heart edges. My finish, that really isn’t finished because I may add additional heart to fill the the empty spaces.

And since I am really sweet on flying geese… The geese were cut using die shapes 4 and 5 from the 8″ Mix and Match Qube from AccuQuilt. I think it needs more hearts.

  1. I love Loki! And those mug rugs are adorbs, too, as is your quilt top! Are you going to open the link party?

  2. Those mug rugs are just the cutest! The design, colors, and quilting really make them look special. The strip quilt with hearts and flying geese is sweet! You really inspire me with how you use your Accuquilt dies. I have several, but rarely use them…need to change that. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Love your bright and sweet quilt. The geese on the border and the hearts makes it even sweeter. Great little plaques you made.

  4. Well Loki stole the show! What a little sweetheart. Love the color placement on your quilt. The Queen of Hearts sure made her statement, and those flying geese…LOVE THEM!!!

  5. I really like the “jelly roll” quilt–the black now and there makes the rest pop, and the hearts you added dress it up. Lovely! The mug rugs are great too! Thanks for sharing!

  6. First off – LOKI is adorable and I can see why you are so sweet on him. Love the Seester mug rugs. Such a sweet idea! Your quilt top is amazing and it just keeps getting sweeter with every addition!

  7. You have been really busy sharing your love using beautiful fabrics for these sweet projects. Thanks for sharing them. And I think Loki is adorable,,such a good companion when you are anywhere.

  8. That really is a pretty quilt, and I like the randomness of the black pieces in the top. Your dog is adorable sitting on your fabric. He looks like he’s expecting something – a pet, a pat, a smile, an order to desist with the sitting? But he looks mischievous! The mug rugs are too much fun!
