Log Cabin Tree of Life September

Today is the release of the next set of 7 blocks for the Log Cabin Tree of Life QAL. For this month all block colorings are the same. This set of blocks make it hard for me to hold back and not finish the entire quilt now but I have committed myself to sewing along with you.  For paper piecing directions click  here.

The current September download will include 7 block templates, a diagram for color placement,  along with a quilt diagram showing the location of the current blocks within the quilt.

We have a few new sponsors. Ladybug’s Cabin, Eye of the BeholderDragonfly’s Quilting Design Studio, and Charisma’s Corner. All  have generously sent patterns to me as prizes to be awarded at the end of the quilt along. I’ve reached out to others and am waiting for replies. Please see the main QAL page for rules on prizes.

To be considered for the giveaway you  must link up your blocks each month, just your August blocks below though. You will link up your September blocks in October.  If you do not have a website to link from please let me know and I will have you email them to me to link up for you.

Linky party for August blocks will remain open until 11;59pm Sept 30th.

  1. Hi Denise! Your QAL blocks look so pretty – the blues all have that water quality to them, and play so nicely together. It won’t be long and you’ll be to the final step, “quilt as desired”. Thanks for linking up this week! ~smile~ Roseanne

I just love these colors together. Thank you for the linky party.

Those fabrics are glorious together, like the Mediterranean sea and sky with some puffy white clouds drifting by. Loving it!

Oh I know, I agree. And they are better in person as the lighting in my house is very drab.

  3. So pretty! It must be so hard not to rush ahead to finish. Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.

It is. Especially seeing how well these fabrics mesh and knowing what is to come, I’m so excited about this finish.

Unfortunately yes. The thread cutter was sticking. That is fixed now but it’s cutting the bobbin thread too short.
