Medallion complete
I”m really digging this medallion. The smaller photo shows off the design best. The center compass was challenging and I was so close to folding it and putting it with other misfit blocks. The seam ripper and I became very friendly with the compass. Lining up the points in the very center was a struggle for some reason. The fifth and final attempt, I placed a pin on each side of the center and stitched. Once I remove all the paper it should relax and press flat. Quilting over that center lump may be another story.
The next round will be circling flying geese with a solid design. With any luck this should be ready to share next Monday but with the holiday…
You can see the design here in the third photo down.

So beautiful! Adding the tulips is inspired, especially with the blue and white color palette. Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.
Thank you Jennifer, my circled geese for the border I think I am going to remake. Thank you for the linky party
This is a quite the stunning medallion – love your color choices and placement
Thank you Susan. I’m glad I used the light blue batik as the background, it really shows off the floral design.
That is a gorgeous medallion! I can imagine that those center points were tricky, but you made it work. Looks great!
Thank you, they were a little bit of pain.
So pretty!
Thank you
Such an interesting design. Love the blues, too.
Thank you. It’s amazing what craftsman could do so long ago with so little tools. I’ve always been amazed with mosaics.
Denise, this is just superb! Your PP skills are amazing and this design is a fantastic marriage of the ancient and the now. Well done my very talented friend!
Thank you Dione. My head is swelling with all the wonderful compliments. I think this one is going to the hardest to let go.

OMG!!! How utterly gorgeous is that!!! I am in awe of you!
Thank you, you are so kind. I wish I could share your wonderful compliment with an the stone mason who created the original design back in the 1st-2nd century. My only addition was the compass and I hope it compliments his art well. Thank you so much for stopping by.
Just beautiful! I really think it is stunning. And a compliment you on your persistence.
Thank you. It really wasn’t as bad as it seemed at that time. A good nights sleep and I realized what I should have done in the beginning. One of those ah-hah moments. Thank you for stopping by.
Beautiful!! Your design and PP skills are epic!!
Awe, that is the best comment I could receive and it couldn’t have come on a better day. Thank you so much. How is the shoulder?
