Yesterday I shared my Island Batik June Challenge finish that was gifted to my grandson Elliott. Elliott was happy to spend some cuddle time with his baby brother Wesley under Dinosaur Valley. You can see that post here.

There is currently a commissioned quilt under my foot for a friend. The design is my own but it does not have a name yet. I’ve been saving it for the perfect fabric collection and it was just one of the designs I sent to her to choose from.

The fabric is who knows, I purchased 4 fat quarter bundles years ago that stayed wrapped in plastic until this past weekend.

Vicki of Vicki’s Crafts and Quilting shared a finish for charity. She has 3 cheerful baby quilt finishes in this post.

Green and peach are one of my favorite combos for quilts and you can see a lot of both in this post by Touch of Gray.

Believe it or not he is that lovable with him, not just for the camera.

Thanks for the shout out! Are your blocks for the commission quilt paper pieced? I am glad you have older fabric still in wrappers like I do too!

    • Denise

You’re welcome. Yes it is paper pieced. I love when fabric is sent wrapped, of course I open it but prefer to leave it wrapped. Keeps dust off and stays well organized.

  4. Hi,
I love getting new fabric and unwrapping it…then thinking about how to use it. Love your new project
so pretty. The picture of the Dino quilt is awesome…Wesley and Elliot look so happy. Have a great day!

    • Denise

Oh me too, feels like Christmas morning opening fabric.

  5. Hi Denise! I am pretty sure I have some fabric bundles that are that old and are still waiting for the perfect project. The blocks you’ve shared with us look fab! And, of course, Wesley and Elliot are so quilt with your dinosaur quilt. ~smile~ Roseanne

    • Denise

Thanks Roseanne. Not sure if I will add a border on the 9 blocks or not.

  6. Love your newest design. It has an ancient vibe to it, like old Greek or Roman. I’m thinking Rising from Atlantis, or Star of Zeus, and that’s just me thinking out loud. No matter how great your quilting is, you know that the real stars here are the grandsons. That’s an adorable picture. ;^)

    • Denise

Thank you so much, that is the best compliment ever. Ancient mosaics are the most beautiful form of art.

    • Denise

You are correct about the grandsons, thank you.
