What’s under my foot
Island Batik Fruit and Veggies designed by Kathy Engle, it’s one of the the FW2022 collections. Pre-cuts are available in shops now with yardage shipping in February. A quick google search reveals Creekside Quilts in the Portland. Or area has them in stock. I love green!

Fruit and Veggies will be included in the first Island Batik Blog Hop of the year in February. Mark your calendars.
Speaking of green…

My new sewing machine arrived Sunday. It had a rough trip. The styrofoam was busted into many pieces, the box was damp with one wet corner and it just didn’t sound right. I took a couple videos and sent them to the dealer and they promptly called me Monday morning. It’s replacement arrived yesterday. Excellent customer service from Ken’s Sewing Center in Muscle Shoals, Al.
As difficult as it is to say, considering how much I loved my Juki TL2010Q, the Elna Elnita EF1 is far superior. The only thing I am missing is rocking back on the foot pedal to cut the thread. The Juki extension table is also a match as you can see.

Gene from Creative Soul shared this beauty he made almost 6 years ago. It reminds me of looking through crystal.
From Pinker and Punkin Quilting and Stitching, a stunning redwork quilt called Frosty McChill. She has more great photos to see of this finish on her blog

Your new machine is a beauty! Do you have as much throat space as the Juki? or more? What kind of lamp is that mounted behind the machine? I need some kind of adjustable lamp instead of a floor lamp.
Thank you. The Elna EF1 has as much throat space as the juki but I think its a little easier to see the needle on the Elna. The lamp is just an adjustable clip on lamp with an adjustable arm.
PS: Love your new machine! Ken’s is only a little less than 3 hours from my home!
Thanks, Tina at Ken’s was so patient and so sweet.
Gorgeous collection of blues and greens in Fruits and Veggies! Can’t wait to see what you make with it!!
I am really enjoying it, all the colors mesh very well.
Hi Denise, I’m so happy that you finally have your new sewing machine! Those veggie fabrics are lovely (not usually my idea of fun, but these are cool!). Looking forward to seeing what you’ll be making with these. As you can see, Version 2.0 is finally finished! Take care.
Yes, and I love it.
Congrats on the new machine! The Fruit and Veggies batiks are soooo tempting!
If you are a green person you will love them.
Your new machine is a beauty!!!
