Put your foot down #2

Welcome to Put your foot down #2. A big thank you to everyone who linked up last week.

My QOV blog hop quilt is ready to load on the frame and I can’t wait to share it here. So far I am really happy with the way it has come together. Once it’s quilted I have another secret sewing quilt that I will be starting using the same Freedom Collection from Island Batik. Both will be revealed in July.

If you missed Monday’s post on the newest additions to my sewing room you can check it out here.  I’m enjoying using the new to me Bernina 150 to assemble the QOV quilt.  It doesn’t have the same strength as my Juki but does produce a nice stitch. What I mean by it not having the same strength, it can handle 2 layers of paper and 2 layers of fabric but when you reach a intersecting seam it stops and/or breaks the needle. My Juki pulls even the heaviest seams right through. The Bernina 830 has the same strength as the Juki however it has a very sensitive foot pedal, it’s all or nothing.

Seashore Splendor QAL with Pamela Quilts

Every two weeks Pamela releases a new block. The latest download was actually for 2 blocks, I love these fish(see bottom row-middle block). Seashore Splendor is a laid back QAL with no deadlines and the blocks are still available from the first release through Payhip. It is a free QAL or you can pay what you want, I have decided to wait until the last block is released to make a payment. That is fair right?

The new block will be released this weekend so check it out. Here is where we are so far:

A couple shares from Put your foot down #1.

  1. Hi Denise! I totally forgot yesterday was Friday, so I’m linking up today at little late to the party. Those Seashore blocks are very cute – that fish one is fun! It looks like there are a few blocks to go but it will be a blast to see how these come together. I still need to add your button to my website – I’m going to copy it right now and get it added. Happy Memorial Day to you. ~smile~ Roseanne
