Put your foot down 211

Put your foot down 211, is a weekly linky party occurring every Thursday for you to share your WIP’s, UFO’s, new finishes, or any fiber arts projects. Thank you all for linking up each week!

Some of the products featured on this site were provided to me free of charge by Island Batik, Hobbs Batting, Aurifil , AccuQuilt, Deb Tucker Studio 180 Designs and Schmetz Needles.

Whats under my foot…

this week, Room With A View. The Island Batik November blog hop will be starting soon and its theme is ByAnnie Patterns. Room With A View is a zip top bag, the pattern includes 3 sizes and I chose to make the largest. In the intro video Annie said the large bag will fit perfect in the Ikea Cube, and I thought it would be great to add a splash of color to the white cubes, and my room. ByAnnie generously sent everything I needed to make the bag.

The fabric I chose is for my bag comes from the Island Batik collection Vintage Charm designed by Kathy Engle. Vintage Charm is just one great collection from the Spring/Summer 2024 line with an expected delivery date of March 2024. You can see the entire collection here on the Island Batik website. My day to share is Nov. 16th.

sewing room setup, sewing room organization

Back at it again, the 4th time I have moved my sewing furniture around, what a mess, lol! It was only partially organized before i decided the room just didn’t flow for me. My sewing cabinet is still in storage so I have to visualize it. There are doors on both sides of the room for storage and I want easy access to them. The previous layout blocked the doors completely. To my back in the photo, there is a bathroom on the left and a closet on the right, and I am standing in a large doorway.

My longarm is now on the left now which gives me more floor space. When it was on the right I had to leave enough room between the wall/slanted ceiling and the frame to quilt. With it on the left, the frame sits 9″ from the wall and I stand in the middle of the room.

  1. Hi Denise, it can often take a while before getting your studio the way you want it – but with all that big equipment, that’s easier said than done! I’m looking forward to seeing your bag. Thanks for the party 🙂

    1. I agree. Going from an 10×11 room and the longarm in another room, to a roughly 12×16 room is quite a change. Plus, I traded one of my Arrow cabinets for a 2.5×8 utility table so finding the right layout for the pieces.
