Put your foot down #25

What’s under my foot?

The new Speakeasy Collection from Island Batik. The blog hop is in full swing and so far this week 4 new collections have been featured. You can view the hop calendar here and also enter to win  a fabric bundle from Island Batik each week.

The fabric I was given for this hop is from the Speakeasy Collection. There were 28 half yard cuts and I used some of most and all of others. You’ll have to wait 11 more days to see my finish though.

My December IB Challenge quilt is almost complete, I’m going mono-chrome. In the second ambassador box there were 4 yard cuts of each white, gray and black. I love these solids and the gray is my fave.

I’ve also started on a new quilt design. I’m not quite sure when I will ever make all the designs I have but they are there when/if I need them.  A qal is still not out of the question and I am trying hard to come up with a design that would fit.

  1. A yummy fabric collection, and what an interesting name – Speakeasy. There is a new bar and grill going in near our condo, also called the Speakeasy. It’s a word I almost never run across, and now here it is twice in one week!

  2. The speak easy collection is so pretty, does IB make these collections available as a set? Or do you know of any online shops that do? As much as I would love to have a half yard of each, a FQ bundle would be a bit easier on my wallet.

      1. Yes they have the same tight weave as batiks. I can’t wait to see the new solids they’ve come out with.

    1. I know they will be available in precuts. They’ll be shipping to stores next month. Let me find out if they will be available in fq bndls or half yard cuts. I’ll get back to you.

    2. Speakeasy precuts will be available in 10″ stacks and 2 1/2″ strips. They no longer do fat quarters.

  3. Hi Denise! I am looking forward to seeing your IBA project for this hop. As far as that goes, for December as well. I never think of IB solid fabrics, but I’ll bet they are nice. No finished project this week. I’d say maybe next week, but knowing what’s ahead for the weekend that is doubtful. ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. The solids are very nice and pair well with the prints. I love the gray so much I have purchased it a couple times, the last purchase was a bolt. I cant believe you do not have a finish. You usually have a half dozen to my one. Have a good weekend and thanks for stopping by.
