Put your foot down #36

What’s under my foot

Welcome to Put your foot down #36.  Monday I shared my Island Batik unboxing video and post which you can view here if you missed it. I’ve also been hard at work on a new project for AccuQuilt using a new die that will be released next month. Although I can’t share that die with you yet I can share the fabrics and progress of the quilt itself.

IB sent Quiet Shades by Kathy Engle  pre-cuts along with 2 yard cuts of a light and dark in box 2 last year.  During the hop where Ambassadors shared their finished quilts using Quiet Shades I was in love. Earth toned and soft colored fabrics are my favorite. So I have been saving  (hoarding) this collection waiting and hoping the perfect design would materialize so I could use it.  When AccuQuilt sent the new die I knew this was it.

  • Inventory Quilt Project

I am also please to announce I will be participating in the Inventory Quilt Project this year.  3 quilters and myself will be making For the love of geese and sharing our progress throughout  the month of April.  It will force me out of my comfort zone to participate in my first ever podcast.  I’ve never been much of a conversationalist, I’m not shy by any means, I guess I just don’t feel the need to speak.  I’m not a gossiper and I don’t share my feelings readily but I am a good listener, lol.  If I have time to think about what you are saying the conversation goes well, mostly I am one of those people who will think about our conversation for hours or days afterwards and wish I had said this or that. So this will definitely be interesting. By chance if you listen to the podcast and hear me saying “uuumm a lot” you will  know that I am nervous and experiencing a brain freeze.  The only time i use umm is when I am nervous. Funny, I just had a similar chat regarding “umm” with fellow Ambassador Quilting Gail.

Wow this is quite a list for me. On a side note I now have a YouTube channel. For now the only video is the IB box 1 opening from last week.

Your shares from #35

There were a lot of great shares last week and I really wanted to feature most of them. Instead I decided to share a quilt a long and something new you all might be interested in.

Tips and Tutorials on the 22nd by Kathleen McMusing is a  monthly linky party. Click her logo to be taken there and read all about it.

The qal with Melva Loves Scraps has begun and it’s not too late to join in. This will be interesting to follow even if you do not have time to participate.

Oh let’s share one more. I loved seeing Twinkling by Storied Quilts during the Winter Blues Blog Hop last week.

  1. Good morning, Denise! Lots of newsy news in this post. That Quiet Shades fabric you shared is just perfectly named. Wow, nice and calm and oh so pretty. I look forward to seeing what you’re making with this. I’m also looking forward to seeing what your log cabin blocks become for the blog hop! Happy Thursday to you. ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. The Quiet Shades are beautiful all sewn together. Just my luck, I had to make a 2nd quilt because I misplaced some blocks in the first. Wouldn’t you know it was already quilted before I noticed it. 🙂
