Put your foot down #54

Another week has flown by and the world’s worries shift from the virus to the riots. Meanwhile in a secluded corner of the midwest I am stitching and planning away. Prayers go out to all those affected by these tragic events.

What’s under my foot?

Monday I shared my June Island Batik Challenge finish/es. You can read about them here.

My latest paperpieced design called Galaxy. After some changes I’ll send out patterns to testers, then I’ll release the pattern in my Etsy shop. As of today I have no timeline.

Cant forget the old truck, it’s not been feeling the love lately.

Okay I know, it’s upside down. The wind is really whipping out there and I cant believe I actually got a somewhat flat shot. This was after the wind popped the cloths pins loose and tried stealing the top. A cloths pin ended up in the gutter, I sure hope DH makes it home before it starts raining.

In case you missed it, I discovered the red patches in a box hidden in the closet of my old sewing room. Originally when I cut them the fabric shifted and not all patches were perfect so I put them all in the box and literally forgot they were there. After re-cutting with the AccuQuilt 8″ block Mix and Match Qube I started improv piecing. I had triangles for 2″ and 4″ finished hst and 2″ finished squares. I still have a few red patches but I don’t know if they will be enough to even form a row.  Either way I have another nice sized lap quilt to add to my finishes. Now I have to go clean up the red threads that are strung from one end of the house to the other, inside and out.

  1. Hi Denise! I’m so glad to see the red and white project is finished and all together. Your two IB project are both fab but my favorite is the first one with the diamonds in the border. I’m not sure if that is Galaxy or the other one is? LOVE it. ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. Yes the diamond border is Galaxy, thank you. The red and white is now quilted and I am working on a post now for tomorrow.

  2. Great finishes. It’s so nice to see such bright happy quilts in spite of the wind. If you ever need another tester, please keep me in mind ? Carol

    1. As soon as my new table arrives I plan to put a make shift design wall on my wall. Right now its either the floor or the 4 x 4 design wall.Thank you for stopping by, you can send your new top to Illinois, it would look so good on me. lol

    1. You know, I get more likes and comments when I post photos with the truck. It draws attention no matter where it is or whats on it, lol.

    1. Thanks Gretchen. Yes, red threads are the worst. When I started working on the quilt I reminded my husband of all the red inside and out the last time I made one. It’s not that it unravels more, the red just catches your attention. I think they are all cleaned up for now.
