Put your foot down #66
Welcome to Put your foot down #66, glad you stopped by.
What’s under my foot?
Well, right now I am just playing because aside from a stack of quilts that need binding I am all caught up. So I decided to do a little fusible applique using the Island Batik Forget Me Not Collection. A few weeks ago I purchased yardage from Hancock’s of Paducah for a secret sewing project. Ignore my drawing skills.
The September blocks for the Tree of Life qal are complete. Aren’t the blues dreamy?
The bedroom makeover
Both Saturday and Sunday I kicked butt in there and it’s finally a bedroom again. Saturday morning I was able to rehang the closet organizer and began restocking while dh was cutting firewood. Both dressers were in place and the cheval mirror back in there. When he came home he asked how I managed to get the dressers moved alone. I told him I was a girl from Bluff St and could do anything. He asked if I was educated and my response, “yes indeed, educated on getting it done without a man around.”
Next he helped me with the bed base and went back to cutting firewood. By the time he came in for the night I had the new softside waterbed filled and the bed ready to climb into. Now I need a headboard. Any suggestions? Still in need of some decorating and a quilt that fits the bed properly.
My Juki
It’s locked up. It was sewing fine as usual and when I activated the thread cutter it just stopped. The handwheel wont turn and the needle wont go up and down. It still has power so that is a good sign.
Your shares from #65
Anne-Marie of Stories from the Sewing Room is making a lot of progress on her version of For the love of geese. I just love that dark medallion.
Nancy of Grace and Peace Quilting shared her finish of a quilt for her nephew. It’s really stunning, go check out her larger photos.
Michelle of My Bijou Life shared her applique elephant quilt. I have been looking forward to seeing its completion.
Love your blue and yellow project. I think I would look at Houzz and see what they are showing for headboards. A friend said she was very pleased with Wayfair, but I haven’t tried them. Look forward to an update on the headboard soon!
I think I have an idea for a headboard. It’s a little unconventional.
Hi Denise, that forget-me-not fabric is lovely. Good luck with finishing your room. It’s going to be lovely being back in there…and good luck with your sewing machine! Take care.
Thank you. We are back in there and the machine is mostly fixed but with new issues.
I like where this blue and yellow project is going. And I’m glad you’re back in your room! Thanks for sharing my quilt.
Not real sure what I am doing with that, I had some small scraps and was just playing. It’s a good size for a throw pillow. We are loving the new bedroom. You’re welcome, I am getting excited to see what you do with the border blocks.
The thread cutter caused mine. That is fixed but now the thread cutter cuts the bobbin thread to short for the top to pick it up and form a stitch. Grr
