Round 3 medallion

Its been a long week and I feel I have gone in circles. First I completed all sections for the current 8 blocks only to realize I used the wrong color for the geese. Its ok though, I planned on redoing the circling geese blocks again so its not as bad as it could be. Fortunately I haven’t joined all the sections to form the blocks.
I had hoped to share this next block with you all today. Perhaps by the end of the week I will be able to do so, fingers crossed. Until then, here is 3/4 of an unassembled block. See the difference in the flying geese color compared to the geese in the circling geese block? What do you think, should I stay with the darker fabric or go with the lighter?

BTW, the background fabric is the lightest blue by Anthology fabric. It looks almost white in the above left photo. LED lights are great but in photos they tend to wash out some colors.

Aside from completing this quilt my oldest sister has 2 quilts she’d like me to quilt for her. She is a trusting soul.

Because I have more than 1 thing happening this month I am going to link up with Elm Street Quilts for the One Monthly Goal. (see the link below) My goal will be to finish this top and have my sisters quilts finished by the end of the month. If I have to keep back tracking it’s not going to happen but hopefully I have learned my lesson. It’s great when you are comfortable and confident in your work. But when you fail to check something as simple as fabric placement it can be costly. Fortunately I have allowed extra fabric for this project.

The last time I linked up my with Elm Street Quilts was Nov 2017 and I was almost successful too. But while loading my goal on the frame I twisted and irritated my sciatic nerve. Somehow I misplaced my hip and my one monthly goad didn’t meet the deadline. Since then I have not linked up feeling somehow I would jinx myself again. Wish me luck y’all.

My one monthly goal, and see what others are working on.

    1. It could always be worse and mistakes happen. I learned a long time ago not to sweat the small stuff. Thank you for the linky party and I will see you there tomorrow.

  1. I vote for the lighter fabric, but I guess I’d have to see it all together to really decide. Hope you’re happy with your choice!

  2. Beautiful! Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and good luck with your project!

  3. I think your geese are gorgeous but I can’t really tell the color from one photo to the next — it’s so hard looking at pictures. Be careful with your back and take care of yourself so you can enjoy lots of quilty goodness in the new year!

    1. Oh I know, photos are difficult, especially on a computer screen. There is still a little bit of piecing to do before I reach the point of going with the my error or fixing it. My hip is so much better, but occasionally reminds me its there.

  4. Good luck getting everything finished this month!! That’s a lot on your plate, especially considering the season!! But I have faith you can achieve your goal this month, with no more stress!!
