Tree of Life progress

Work continued over the weekend on the 85″ Tree of Life Quilt. All of my blocks are complete except the flying geese for the border. This is an expanded version of my upcoming QAL, the quilt for it will finish vat 63″ square if you don’t add a bonus border.

The fabrics for this version is Island Batik scraps that I received as as IBA.  The only exception would be the Rice and solid white background fabric which I purchased, also IB.

There’s still about half this many more blocks that need trimming and I’d like to get that done before finishing the geese border blocks.

There is no timeline on it’s finish so I’ll be setting it aside soon to work on my August IB challenge and the August 1st release of the first blocks for the QAL.

If you’re just joining in you can view the information about the free quilt a long and grab your download of fabric requirements here.

treeoflifequiltalongI’m also participating the the Christmas in July Blog Hop with Carol from Just Let Me Quilt, it’s quickly approaching.

You might also want to mark your calendar for the It’s a Garden Party Row Along hosted by Seams to Be Sew. There are applique rows, pieced rows and of course my row is paper pieced but with a little applique. If I am understanding correctly the rows created by designers will be available for download and there will be prizes.

  1. Hi Denise! Ooh, those geese. I love those geese and especially the fabrics you chose for them. The shading is just perfect. ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. That’s IB Rice. I loved it so much I purchased a bolt. It was also the background in my flower and vase quilt. And the background for another a few months ago. Thank you for stopping by today, see you tomorrow.
